The Bass wind chime from Music of the Spheres®, Inc. is 90" long from the knot to the wind catcher. It uses 2 1/2" diameter tubing and weighs 48 pounds.
This is a very large chime. Once struck, it has a sustain that goes on for a remarkably long time. Deep voiced and quite heavy, please be sure you have a support capable of holding 48 pounds.
These wind chimes sound beautiful and can be mixed using selected tunings and sizes that will overlap and harmonize. We recommend that when you mix tunings, you do so with either the same size or with only one step in-between. For instance, if you're getting a Bass wind chime as part of an ensemble, you would either get a second Bass or even one size smaller, the Tenor wind chime.
The Hawaiian scale is Polynesian in flavor, reminiscent of a tangy sweet & sour sauce and tropical island breezes. It combines the best of major and minor pentatonic scales. Mix this scale with the Pentatonic scale for a lovely multi-cultural effect.
