The Alto wind chime from Music of the Spheres®, Inc. is 50" long from the knot to the wind catcher. It uses 1 1/2" diameter tubing and weighs 11 pounds.
These wind chimes sound beautiful and can be mixed using selected tunings and sizes that will overlap and harmonize. We recommend that when you mix tunings, you do so with either the same size or with only one step in-between. For instance, if you're getting an Alto as part of an ensemble, you would either get a second Alto or the next step up, a Tenor, or even one size smaller, the Mezzo Soprano.
The Hawaiian scale is Polynesian in flavor, reminiscent of a tangy sweet & sour sauce and tropical island breezes. It combines the best of major and minor pentatonic scales. Mix this scale with the Pentatonic scale for a lovely multi-cultural effect.
